In the Contingency Awards section of the 2010 NHRA Rulebook, the language states that contingency decals “Must be exact size and design of company’s contingency decal (36-square-inch maximum).”
Effective with NHRA events beginning the week of July 5, NHRA will no longer verify contingency decals that do not meet this rule. Any contingency decals that are deemed to be shrunken or reduced in size, color, or shape will not be verified by NHRA.
It is the responsibility of each racer to be in compliance with the NHRA Rulebook. Racers may obtain correct size, color, and shape contingency decals by contacting the manufacturer directly, visiting the representatives on the Midway at Full Throttle Drag Racing Series events, or going to the division tech trailer at Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series events.
It should also be noted that not all contingency sponsors supply the divisions with contingency decals. Contacting the manufacturer directly is the best course of action in these cases.
