Tuesday Tech Question presented by Evans Coolant

My local NHRA starter and then the tech inspector told me that it was not legal to put preload in my wheelie bars on my front wheel drive car.  Is that in the NHRA Rulebook somewhere?

Answer:

The NHRA starter and tech inspector are correct.  In the General Regulations page 17 it reads “Wheelie-bar wheels must turn freely at the starting line, any preload prohibited.”
