Tuesday Tech Question presented by Evans Coolant

Question:

Can I use spacers on my hood hinges to raise the back of the hood, for fresh air on my Stock / Super Stock Nova?

Answer:

Per the 2019 NHRA Rulebook sections 11A and 12A pages 11 and 9 BODY : 7 HOOD it reads "hood openings and or hood scoops other than original equipment prohibited. OEM hood openings must retain all flappers, grilles, hardware, ETC. as originally produced." With that said no spacers would not be acceptable. The hood must be installed flush with the fenders and or cowl.
