The following serves as a notice to all competitors attending a NHRA Camping World Drag Racing Series National Event.  NHRA through Safety-Kleen will be providing teams with this environmental service for used fluids and solvents collection.

TEAMS ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR FOLLOWING ALL REGULATIONS AND NHRA RULES.

COLLECTION OF FUEL, SOLVENT and OIL:

• Teams are no longer permitted to use 55 gallon metal drums on-site for the collection of used fuel, cleaning solutions and or used oil.
• All used oil and cleaning solutions MUST be taken to the Safety-Kleen Recycling Center for proper collection and recycling. Containers for the collection of used oil must not weigh over 80 lbs – 5 gallon containers are recommended.
• Used containers of fuel, cleaning solutions and oil containers CANNOT be disposed of in trash containers or left on-site after completion of event.  Containers MUST be brought to the track Safety-Kleen Recycling Center for proper collection and recycling. 
• Fuel, cleaning solutions, oil or any other liquids MUST each be disposed of in separate containers.  Disposing of any used fuel, cleaning solutions, oil or any other liquids into unapproved container or mixing waste streams constitutes hazardous material.  Used oil is NOT considered a hazardous material if not mixed with other waste streams.
• All fuels, cleaning solutions, oils or any other liquids spilled onto the ground would constitute a pollutant. In the event of a spill - teams must contact an NHRA Pit Control official.
• All containers MUST remain closed when not in use to insure no cross contamination.

  AEROSOL CANS and RAGS: 

• All used aerosol cans MUST be punctured by the team to insure that they are empty and will be sent for metals recycling. Used aerosol cans must be brought to the Safety-Kleen Recycle Center for proper disposal and recycling.
• Used rags CANNOT be disposed of in a trash container.  Used rags must be brought to the Safety-Kleen Recycle Center for proper disposal and recycling.

Non-hazardous material with a continued use to the team may be taken by the team when the team leaves the facility.  The team is responsible for ensuring that the material is stored and transported in accordance with all applicable EPA/DOT regulations.  Teams electing not to remove their own non-hazardous, recyclable/reusable material will be required to make arrangements with Safety-Kleen. 

Teams found in violation of the NHRA approved Department of Environmental Protection rules and procedures will be subject to fines.  For example, fines will be imposed for hazardous material created by mixing waste streams and for any damaged container. 

Teams are strongly encouraged to direct any questions about their specific needs or used fluids / cleaning solutions to Safety-Kleen.  Representatives will be on site starting day prior to competition.   

AEROSOL CANS and RAGS:

Safety Kleen will be onsite to collect used oil, solvent, oily rags and punctured aerosol cans.  Hours of operation of the Track Recycling Center will be posted at each NHRA National event.  Please observe these posted hours and do not use the Recycling Center during off hours.
