The Technical Department has recently received several complaints from fans concerning their inability to read the competition numbers of their favorite drivers. These complaints are not just directed at professional categories but also all sportsman categories. Some of the complaints have been that racer’s competition numbers are not as large as the rulebook requires, that the number fonts used are not easily legible and that the colors used are not truly contrasting (e.g. g

As a reminder to all racers, tampering with NHRA-Specified fuels is prohibited. Tampering includes, but is not limited to, adding other chemicals or fuels to an NHRA-Specified fuel. Penalties for tampering with an NHRA-Specified fuel may result in a disqualification from an event and in addition could also include a monetary fine, loss of points, and suspension from NHRA competition. 63754

The NHRA has announced the newly created Drag A Friend To The Strip, a program offered exclusively for NHRA member tracks across the country. The initiative implemented by NHRA Field Marketing will inspire current racers, fans, and supporters of the NHRA to bring friends to share the speed at NHRA Member Tracks events.

After review, it has been verified by NHRA that one of the winners from the NHRA Kansas Nationals placed contingency decals on their vehicle after the first round of eliminations began and prior to the final round of competition. This action violates Section 1.11 CONTINGENCY AWARDS of the 2015 NHRA Rulebook which states, “Decals placed on vehicles once eliminations have begun will not be granted verification”. The NHRA disqualified a Rodney Benson from the 2015 NHRA Kansas Nationals at Heartland Park Topeka for violating NHRA Rules, particularly Section 20, page 36 of the 2015 NHRA Rulebook under Ignition. Tech inspectors discovered a traction control devise was installed. In addition to the disqualification the competitor will receive zero points for the event and the event will count towards his quota. The disqualification is not appealable. 63367

NHRA and No Problem Raceway officials announced today that due to weather continuing to plague the entire South Central Division, the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series No Problem Raceway Park event originally scheduled for this weekend, May 29-31, is being rescheduled. The new date for the event will be July 17-19, 2015.

As the result of runs under the Automatic Horsepower Factoring System (AHFS) 1.20-second under policy at the LODRS 1-2 event, the following change has been made. The horsepower rating for 09-10 Dodge Drag Pak entries with the 426 cubic inch engine and a factory rating of 450 currently rated at 450, has been increased by twenty four horsepower, to 474 horsepower; for Stock Eliminator. The NHRA disqualified a competitor from the 2015 Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Southern Nationals at Atlanta Dragway for violating NHRA Rules, particularly Section 10A, page 10 of the 2015 NHRA Rulebook under Electrical. Tech inspectors discovered a false battery was installed. In addition to the disqualification the competitor will receive zero points for the event and the event will count towards his quota. Due to an unfavorable forecast for this weekend’s NHRA Kansas Nationals, we are going to make every effort to complete the sportsman portion of the event on Saturday. In a special drawing for the NHRA Summit Racing Series National Championship, four NHRA Divisions were selected to send an extra racer to compete for the national championship at the season ending Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona.
