5/31/2017 As the result of runs under the Automatic Horsepower Factoring System (AHFS) 1.20-second under policy at the LODRS division 1 event, the following change has been made. After reviewing the FGT/A and FGT/B indexes, the NHRA Technical Department will decrease the indexes for Super Stock FGT/A to 8.80 and FGT/B to 9.20, This change is effective retroactive from the start of the 2017 season. Part of the decision to change the indexes were due to a typographical error, and the performance potential of the combinations eligible to run these classes. 69699

Beginning June 1, 2017, 2.9L Whipple supercharger rotors used in the Stock and Super Stock categories can be no more than 268 millimeters (10.550 inches) in length and no larger in diameter than 104.4 millimeters (4.110 inches). Question: I was told by my local technical inspector that my Advanced E.T. Chevy Cobalt is required to have a fire extinguisher system. I did not think this was the case. Can you please tell me who is correct? Answer: Your local technical inspector is correct. A 5-pound, minimum, fire extinguisher system is mandatory on all cars, except rear-engine cars without an enclosed cockpit. 69368

The 2017 JEGS SPORTSnationals will be featured on NHRA All Access, NHRA officials announced today. The extreme racing action from the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series and the JEGS SPORTSnationals presented by Quick Fuel will be featured during the Memorial Day weekend event, May 26-28, from historic Beech Bend Raceway Park in Bowling Green, Ky.

NHRA announced a change to the structure in which racers earn points toward a birth in the popular JEGS Allstar program. Beginning with the 2018 JEGS Allstar event, racers will now count their best five in-division events toward their JEGS Allstar point’s total.

Question: Can I add a wing to the back of my Super Pro 68 Camaro? Answer: Yes you can. First off let me state that a wing/airfoil has air flowing above and below the surfaces and a spoiler is attached to the body and air only flows over the top. So, if you add a wing/airfoil to the Camaro it must be permanently attached to the frame or roll cage and be non-adjustable during the run. 69367

Competition Eliminator has decided to address the low car count in the class and expand their presence from on-track action to the world of social media in 2017.

Based on performance numbers from the first four races of the NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Racing Series, the NHRA Technical Department is reducing the maximum allowable overdrive limit on Supercharged entries from 20 percent to 16.5 percent. This rule change will go into effect immediately. 69601
