Rob Park, SRAC Chairperson, scheduled a meeting today with the Competition Eliminator council, Graham Light, and Josh Peterson. The group discussed a multitude of ideas on how to grow the category. Council members shared information about new cars planning to debut during the 2017 season. At the conclusion of the meeting everyone had a positive outlook on the prospect for more racers supporting the class by participation. 69314

Jesse Kershaw will be NHRA’s North Central Division Director (Division 3). The North Central Division includes tracks in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio and is home to four NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series events.

The Review Panel has reached a decision in the appeal filed by Jay Payne based on the statement of action issued for numerous on track incidents. I'm planning on bending a chromoly driveshaft loop. In the rulebook section 2:4 states 7/8 inch x .065 inch welded steel tubing. But I'm planning on 1" OD chromoly, so my question is do I still need to use .065" wall thickness or can I use .058" wall thickness? In cooperation with our member tracks, we have arranged for NHRA SFI Chassis Inspectors to conduct nearly 30 pre-season Remote Inspection Site days throughout the North Central Division. These remote sites are provided as a convenience for racers in need of having their race car chassis inspected/certified.
