My local NHRA starter and then the tech inspector told me that it was not legal to put preload in my wheelie bars on my front wheel drive car. Is that in the NHRA Rulebook somewhere? Answer: The NHRA starter and tech inspector are correct. In the General Regulations page 17 it reads “Wheelie-bar wheels must turn freely at the starting line, any preload prohibited.” 69146

The NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, where the future stars of NHRA Drag Racing are born, will be showcased in 16 races throughout the season on FOX Sports 1 (FS2) and FOX Sports 2 (FS2), it was announced today by NHRA officials. Officials from NHRA and FOX Sports have unveiled the 2017 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series television schedule for the season’s Sunday eliminations shows. The 2017 season is highlighted by 16 live Sunday finals shows, including four on the FOX broadcast network.

Based on performance numbers from the 2016 NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Racing Series season, the NHRA Technical Department is decreasing the minimum weight of the Nitrous assisted entries by 25 pounds. The new allowable minimum weight for Nitrous assisted entries will be limited to a minimum of 2,450 pounds. Additionally, maximum supercharger overdrive will be increased from 14.55 to 20.00 for Supercharged entries. These rule changes will go into effect immediately. 69185

I have bought a homemade Jr Dragster recently for my Daughter. I was at my local NHRA Member Track this past weekend and was informed that our carbon fiber front wheels are not legal. Is this true? Answer: On page 38 of the 2017 NHRA Jr Dragster Rulebook in the WHEELS section it states "All wheels must be constructed from aluminum, billet, or steel. All other materials prohibited." 69143
