Question: I was thinking about replacing the OEM windows in my 1972 Vega Super Pro car. What requirements must I follow? Answer: In the 2018 NHRA Rulebook, section 4A Super Pro, page 6, WINDSHIELD, WINDOWS it reads “May be replaced with shatterproof material, 1/8-inch-minimum thickness. Question: Am I allowed to have a laptop in the driver’s compartment? Answer: Yes, Per the 2018 Rulebook section 21, page 37-38, Support Group: 9, second paragraph. It reads: During NHRA competition, a portable computer (e.g., laptop, PDA, Palm Pilot, programmer, etc.) must be securely mounted when located in driver’s compartment at any point beyond the staging area ready line. The car that I purchased is a 1969 Nova that has a roll cage like you see in the NHRA Rulebook and it also has a funny car cage installed.
