NHRA Technical Department Makes Parity Adjustments to NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Drag Racing Series
Based on performance numbers from the 2016 NHRA J&A Service Pro Mod Racing Series season, the NHRA Technical Department is decreasing the minimum weight of the Nitrous assisted entries by 25 pounds. The new allowable minimum weight for Nitrous assisted entries will be limited to a minimum of 2,450 pounds. Additionally, maximum supercharger overdrive will be increased from 14.55 to 20.00 for Supercharged entries. These rule changes will go into effect immediately. 69185

I purchased a complete rolling 23-T altered chassis that I’m going to put a very mild 350 Chevy into and run at my local NHRA Track. If I run in the mid 10 second range what chassis rules will I need to follow? Horsepower Adjustments – From Competitor Requests
The NHRA Technical Department released Horsepower changes December 19, 2016 after review and evaluation of written requests from Lucas Oil Sportsman Series competitors. I have a Pro ET 1985 Camaro that has an OEM floor and firewall and runs 10.80 with a rollbar. This winter I would like to stiffen the car up by making it into a complete rollcage and it should run in the low 10’s. In reading the 2016 NHRA Rulebook I see if I run 10 seconds and slower and under 135 MPH I do not need an SFI 27.1 window net. Am I reading it correctly?
