NHRA Northwest and Woodburn Dragstrip officials announced today the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series Regional event scheduled for July 9-11, 2021 will expand to a double-header.

The NHRA Technical Department has released additional 2021 Rule Amendments. Unless otherwise noted in this document, these additional amendments will come into effect immediately. The 2021 NHRA Rulebook Amendments can be found under the Rules section of NHRARacer.com. 72211

The NHRA Pacific Division announced today a number of changes to events in the second half of the 2021 season. The continuing COVID-19 restrictions which have impacted us all since early 2020 have hampered our scheduling and as we move closer to gaining full release of these restrictions, we continue to work with our NHRA Member Tracks regarding not only drag racing events, but other events and opportunities that have risen to the forefront.

Today NHRA and Toronto Motorsports Park have teamed up to announce a new date for the PCRichard.com National Open event. The event will be moved to September 3rd – 5th.

The following action has been taken against Slate Cummings regarding excessive braking at Houston Raceway Park in Baytown, Texas during Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event #42. Cummings was disqualified from the event and will receive 0 points from the event and the event will count towards his quota. 72205

The NHRA will be hosting a seminar for all Top Alcohol competitors on Thursday, May 13th at 4:00 PM PT on the staging procedure for the 4-wide event. The seminar will be hosted on the starting line of zMax Dragway. We encourage all top alcohol competitors to participate. 72188

After consultation with multiple weather service providers, the forecast calls for rain throughout the weekend that would not enable track and series adequate time to properly conduct qualifying and eliminations. The decision was made early in an attempt to provide racers adequate time to alter travel plans.

Reminder to all participants, any driver making a run prior to submitting an electronic tech card and not signing the online waiver will be disqualified from the event. Disqualification applies to driver and vehicle in which the illegal run was involved. Should a driver have a second entry in a different category at the same event, the second entry will be allowed to continue providing tech inspection and waiver signing was completed prior to making a run in the vehicle. 721

NHRA officials announced the 2021 Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event contested at Mission Raceway Park scheduled for June 24th – 27th has been postponed due to local restrictions and border closure as a result of the pandemic. NHRA and Mission Raceway Park officials are looking for an alternative date for the event. Additional details regarding alternative event dates will be posted on NHRARacer.com, NHRAdiv6.com and applicable social channels. 72193
