Tuesday Tech Question presented by Evans Coolant
I am just finishing up my ’41 Willys Top Sportsman car. I noticed that some cars in the class have beadlock wheels and others do not. What kind of wheels do I need to purchase? Answer: If you plan to run 6.50 or quicker or 210 mph or faster you will need to have SFI Spec 15.1 wheels. These wheels must either be beadlocks or have liners. For more information, please see General Regulations Section 5 in your 2016 NHRA Rulebook. 67442

Answer: For all 2008 OEM model-year and newer unaltered production cars running slower than 9.99 and 135 mph, they do not have to meet the requirements and specifications for the Summit Racing Series unless the car is a T-top or convertible. I am just finishing up my Street Roadster that I plan to compete with in your Super Gas category. Since this body does not have any place for taillights, do I still need to have one? Answer: Many classes, such as Super Gas, do not require the vehicle to have factory taillights, but that does not mean that you do not need one. You will still be required to have at least one functional taillight. 67437
