Tuesday Tech Question

Dear NHRA Tech Department,

I wanted to put a dial in board controller in the cockpit of my sons Jr. Dragster. Am I allowed to do this? I couldn’t find anything in the rulebook in regards to having the controller in the cockpit.

                Dial In Dave

Tuesday Tech Question Answer

Dial In Dave,

You cannot put the dial in board controller in the cockpit. This is based on the spirit of the rule found in Race Procedures, Dial-In, on page 27 of the 2016 Jr Drag Racing Rulebook, "Dial-in cannot be changed after the track-designated ready line”. If the controller was located in the cockpit changing the dial-in would be possible.

Thank you

NHRA Tech Department
