NHRA staff members have been dealing with the weather in Gainesville for several weeks and, in the face of persistent rain, we’re making every attempt to dry Auto Plus Raceway at Gainesville. Unfortunately, we’ve not been as successful as we’d like – or should I say, the weather has not fully cooperated.
Fortunately, the forecast is favorable over next 10 days and we have ordered extra water pumps and trucks to remove the standing water. We’ve also ordered gravel to make certain areas more receptive to heavy traffic. In order to give the land sufficient time to dry, we are adjusting the schedule for Tuesday and Wednesday (March 11-12).

Pre-event stacking originally scheduled to begin Monday, March 10, at 7 a.m. has been canceled for all categories in effort to preserve the condition of the spectator parking lot. All TAD, TAFC and PM teams will be allowed to enter the facility Tuesday, March 11, at 9 a.m. through Gate B. All Comp, SS, STK, SC, SG and TD competitors will be allowed to enter the facility at Wednesday, March 12, at 7 a.m. through Gate B.
As a reminder, if you’re unable to attend the Amalie Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals you have until noon Pacific time on Monday, March 10, to withdraw from the event. If you withdraw from the event prior to the deadline, your account will be credited for the entry fee and insurance surcharge. This credit will remain on your account for one year. Anyone that does not withdraw from the event prior to the deadline - or elects not to show -- will forfeit their entry fee and insurance surcharge.
