School of Automotive Machinists & Technology NHRA Factory Stock Showdown Rules and Procedures

At the five School of Automotive Machinists & Technology NHRA Factory Stock Showdown events to be held in 2017, competitors will qualify within Stock Eliminator and compete in FS/XX and FS/X class eliminations. Competitors in the Factory Stock Showdown this year will qualify together as a group rather than being dispersed throughout the Stock Eliminator qualifying field as in past years. At four of the five events the quickest eight race cars following qualifying will advance to the Factory Stock Showdown eliminations. At the fifth event, the Chevrolet Performance U.S. Nationals at Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis, the quickest sixteen race cars following qualifying will advance to the Factory Stock Showdown eliminations. The five Factory Showdown eliminators will showcase the quickest Factory Stock race cars in a heads up competition to be contested on Saturday and Sunday. The competitors who did not qualify for the Factory Stock Eliminator will remain in Stock Eliminator.
