NHRA Summit Series National Championship Guidelines



General Regulations

Entering Event

r  Drivers must fill out and return to NHRA Competition Department the enclosed Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals entry.

r  Each entry is entitled to (1) one contestant parking pass and (1) pit vehicle sticker.  Both will be issued to the competitor at the time of pit parking by an NHRA Pit Control Official.

·         Contestant Parking Pass goes on the vehicle you plan to take in and out of the pits each day.

·         Each Entry is entitled to bring (1) one pit vehicle in the pits (See NHRA Pit Vehicle)

r  After passing the Technical Inspection process please bring your Tech Card and Waiver to the NHRA Racer Registration trailer located at the back of the staging lanes.

r  Each entry is entitled to (3) restricted area passes (1 – Driver and 2 – Crew Members), each must be 16 years old and above. Restricted area is defined as the starting line, return road and top end.

·         Minor under the age of 14 will issued a special RESTRICTED AREA PASS but MUST REMAIN WITHIN THE CONFINES OF THE TOW VEHICLE WHENEVER IN RESTIRCTED AREA (must be inside cab or a truck or car – NOT on a golf cart, scooter, or ATV).

·         All minor crew, under the age of 18 must have a Minor Release Form signed by BOTH BIOLOGICAL PARENTS OR LEGAL GUARDIANS. In the case of a single parent (by means of divorce, death, or court order), or a legal guardian (by court order), a written notation must be made on the Minor Release Form.  (This paperwork is not required for minor drivers, under age of 18 holding a valid NHRA Competition License/Number, included as part of NHRA Competition License/Number process.)

r  NHRA will pay $210 event entry fee

r  Driver/Rider must pay $120 event insurance fee

r  Entry entitles racer to credentials for the driver and two crew members.  A maximum of 12 additional tickets (which DO NOT include restricted area access) may be purchased at racer registration for a discounted price (Adult: $90;  14-13 years $10; Youth under 12 admitted free)

r  Driver/Rider must be a current NHRA member (non-members can signup on Automobile Club of Southern California NHRA Finals event entry enclosed)


r  Arrive at Auto Club Raceway at Pomona: Wednesday, November 7 or Thursday,

r  November 8

r  Summit Racing Series national contestants will be pitted together

r  Technical Inspection will take place on Wednesday and Thursday.

r  Car/Motorcycle must look professional in appearance (e.g.: no shoe polish car numbers on windows)

r  Car/Motorcycle must have the NHRA decal and the NHRA Summit Racing Series decal

r  Car/Motorcycle may not be entered into any other category at this event

r  Driver may not be entered into any other category at this event


r  Deep Staging is allowed

r  Christmas Tree will be on Auto Start

r  Christmas Tree will utilize the LED lighting system

r  Starting system will be a 5/10ths full Tree

r  Compulink CrossTalk feature used in Super Pro and Super Pro Bike

r  One time-trial run: Friday, November 9

r  Two time-trial runs: Saturday, November 10

r  Eliminations: Sunday, November 11

Fun Stuff

r  Thursday, November 8, dinner at Wally Parks NHRA Motorsports Museum starting at 6:00 p.m.

r  Sunday, November 11, driver introductions on starting line, approximately 9:30 a.m.

r  Sunday, November 11, Winner’s Circle celebrations
