Robert Tasca III had his run disqualified and was fined $2,500 for making a pass with one front-body-release handle unlatched on his Funny Car entry during Q1 of the Gerber Collison & Glass NHRA Route 66 Nationals presented by Peak Performance at the Route 66 Raceway in Elwood, Illinois held May 17 through May 21, 2023. The fine will be dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of the Safety Safari. The fine is appealable. 72803

Based on Pro Stock Motorcycle performance data, the NHRA Technical Department has made the following parity changes. These rule changes will go into effect immediately. Based on NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series performance numbers from the first 2 races of 2023, the NHRA Technical Department is reducing the minimum weight of screw supercharged entries from 2,740 pounds to 2,700 pounds. All other minimum weights will remain the same. This rule change will go into effect immediately. Based on the FLEXJET NHRA Factory Stock Showdown performance numbers from the first 2 races of the 2023 season, the NHRA Technical Department is reducing the supercharger overdrive by changing the upper supercharger pulley for the 2019-2020, 2022-2023 Chevrolet COPO 350 from 3.125 inches to 3.250 inches. The decision has been made by the Division 6 office and Pacific Raceways to remove the Alcohol classes from the Seattle Lucas Oil Divisional event scheduled for August 11-13. The Alcohol categories will still compete during the Flav-R-Pac Northwest Nationals scheduled for July 21-23, 2023.

Tim Wilson was disqualified and fined $1,000 for having his fire bottles and one of his parachutes pinned while making a pass with his Top Sportsman entry during E1 of the Thunder Valley Raceway Park LODRS. Bruce Mullins was disqualified in his Top Dragster from (LO11). Mullins made a pass in the first round of Qualifications at 5.991 seconds. His pass below the minimum of 6.00 seconds resulted in his disqualification from the event. This disqualification is not appealable. 72773

Thunder Valley Raceway Park in Noble, OK did sustain some wind damage on the spectator side Wednesday night, but we are happy to report that everything at the track is still operational and ready for this weekend.
