Tony Schumacher was fined $10,000 for driving a vehicle that had two disabled safety systems, and an additional $10,000 for bypassing a performance restriction device for a total fine of $20,000. Jim Campbell was fined $2,500 for not having his parachutes properly attached while making a pass with his Funny Car entry during Q1 of the Lucas Oil Nationals event at Brainerd International Raceway in Brainerd, MN. This infraction resulted in both parachutes coming off the car when they were deployed at the end of the run. The fine will be dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of the Safety Safari. Based on Pro Stock Motorcycle performance data, the NHRA Technical Department is increasing the minimum weight of the 4-valve Suzuki up to 113 CID entries from 625 pounds to 630 pounds. The S&S and VTwin VH160 will be reduced from 640 pounds to 635 pounds. All other minimum weights will remain the same. This rule change will go into effect immediately. The following action has been taken against Chad Head regarding an incident that occurred during the Menards NHRA Nationals Presented by PetArmour held August 12th through August 14th, 2022. As a result of the incident, Head has been fined twelve hundred and fifty dollars ($1,250) for conduct deemed to be out of order which resulted in damage to an NHRA measurement tool. Bobby Cottrell was fined $1,000 for having a modified supercharger restraint that did not fit properly his Nostalgia Funny Car entry during the Hot Rod Heritage Series event at Firebird Raceway in Boise, ID held August 4th through August 7th, 2022. 8/23/2022 As the result of runs under the Automatic Horsepower Factoring System (AHFS) 1.20-second under policy at the NHRA National event, the following changes have been made.
