Fueling Guidelines for The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway
The Clark County Fire Department has approved the following fueling guidelines for the upcoming National event. Adherence to these guidelines is necessary to reduce the chance of static electricity causing a fire during fueling operations. Sportsman Parking Notice - Charlotte

Question: Have the Jr Dragster rules changed on fire pants and towing flags? Answer: No the rules have not changed. As a matter of fact at the past couple of NHRA Division races that we have ran Jr Dragsters, the the Safety Crew had to warn Jr Dragster racers to wear their SFI 3.2A/1 fire pants (yes even though it was hot) and display their fluorescent towing flag anytime the Jr Dragster is towed. 71079

Question: I’m having trouble fitting my SFI 30.1 flexplate shield to my dragster. Can I trim the metal to make it fit my car? Answer: No you are not allowed to modify an SFI product. On page 3 of the General Regulations the second paragraph it states “Under no circumstances may any certified product be modified, altered, or in any way vary from the “as manufactured” condition.” 71075

Statement of Action Against Cody Lane
The NHRA has disqualified Cody Lane from a Super Stock Challenge CIC race during the Northwest Division LODRS event held at Woodburn Dragstrip. During the Technical Inspection process of Cody Lane’s super stock entry, it was discovered the carburetor did not comply with the rules. This decision is not appealable and prior to competing at the next event the carburetor must be in compliance with the 2018 NHRA Rulebook. 71206

Horsepower adjustments following the LODRS Division 5 event in Great Bend, KS

Question: I’m installing a fuel cell in the trunk of my Pro ET car. If I use an aluminum fuel cell will I still need to run a ground wire to it? Answer: The 2018 NHRA Rulebook in the General Regulations section 21, page 4, 1:5 Fuel Systems, Tanks: the last sentence states “Nonmetallic fuel cells or tanks must be grounded to frame”. SFI 25.x Chassis Specification Updates
SFI has recently revised their 25.x chassis specifications. These new specifications will be enforced immediately on all newly constructed chassis. For chassis requiring re-certification, these revised specifications will not go into effect until January 1, 2019. Question: I’m finishing my Top Dragster and when I take it out it should run 7.0 @ 190 mph. My racing buddies said I’m good with a single parachute and without a head & neck restraint for now.
