For 2012, Castrol has increased the contingency payout at NHRA Division races from $100 to $300 for winners and from $50 to $100 for runner-up racers in their respective categories. Sportsman classes eligible are Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car, Comp, Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas and Super Street. Castrol also is a contingency sponsor at all NHRA Full Throttle events, thus making them the only oil sponsor supporting Sportsman racers in both series.

NHRA announced today that it will expand its innovative Stock and Super Stock Class Eliminations points program to all events where class racing is scheduled to be contested during the 2012 NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series season.
