Castrol Increases Contingency Payout for NHRA Sportsman Racers

For 2012, Castrol has increased the contingency payout at NHRA Division races from $100 to $300 for winners and from $50 to $100 for runner-up racers in their respective categories. Sportsman classes eligible are Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car, Comp, Super Stock, Stock, Super Comp, Super Gas and Super Street. Castrol also is a contingency sponsor at all NHRA Full Throttle events, thus making them the only oil sponsor supporting Sportsman racers in both series.

 “We are very pleased to announce our increased support with the Sportsman Contingency program” said Lori Anne Gola, Castrol Sports Marketing, Sponsor Relations and Promotions. “NHRA Sportsman racers are the true heart of grassroots drag racing and are considered influencers and opinion leaders among their family, friends and co-workers when it comes to performing vehicle maintenance.” 

To be eligible for the program, racers must run the approved Castrol contingency decal that can be obtained from the Castrol display trailer located along the sponsor midway at all NHRA events. Racers can also request decals by emailing their name, address and NHRA Competition License number to lorianne.gola@bp.com.
