Based on NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series performance numbers from the first 3 races of 2022, the NHRA Technical Department is reducing the minimum weight of Turbo assisted entries from 2,615 pounds to 2,590 pounds. Based on the Constant Aviation NHRA Factory Stock Showdown performance numbers from the first 3 races of the 2022 season, the NHRA Technical Department is reducing the minimum weight for the 2019-2022 Chevrolet COPO 350 by 50 pounds, from 3575 to 3525. Based on Pro Stock Motorcycle performance data, the NHRA Technical Department is increasing the minimum weight of the Suzuki 4 valve up to 107 CID entries from 610 pounds to 620 pounds, and on 4 valve up to 113 CID entries from 620 pounds to 630 pounds. The following action has been taken against Steven Densham regarding their disabled parachute system at the completion of his run during qualifications at the NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, NV.. Steven Densham’s qualifying run was disqualified and he has been fined Two Thousand Five Hundred dollars ($2,500). The fine will be dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of the Safety Safari. 72507

As a reminder to all NHRA racers, all certifications for 2010 SFI and Snell helmets expired on 12/31/2021. Consequently, SFI and Snell helmets bearing a 2010 certification tag are no longer permitted. Additionally, beginning 1/1/2022, all parachute pilot chutes used in Top Alcohol Dragster, Top Alcohol Funny Car, Pro Mod, Pro Stock, Top Fuel and Funny Car must be made of a bright color, not black, to be visible on the racing surface if detached from the main chute. 72408
