Horsepower adjustments following the LODRS Division 7 event in Las Vegas, NV

NHRA Technical Department released the 2019 Junior Drag Racing League (JDRL) Rulebook
Earlier today the NHRA Technical Department released the 2019 JDRL Rulebook and the 2018 to 2019 JDRL NHRA Rulebook Amendments.

Question: Do I need a diaper on my Advanced ET Dragster that I’m finishing up? I think it should run 7.20 in the ¼-mile at my local track. Answer: In the 2018 NHRA Rulebook section 4B page 10 paragraph 2, Oil-Retention Device it reads: “All vehicles running 7.49 or quicker must utilize an NHRA-accepted lower engine oil-containment device; may use a belly pan in lieu of a device attached to the engine.” This also would apply to any Advanced ET vehicle that runs 4.49 -

Question: Have the Jr Dragster rules changed on fire pants and towing flags? Answer: No the rules have not changed. As a matter of fact at the past couple of NHRA Division races that we have ran Jr Dragsters, the the Safety Crew had to warn Jr Dragster racers to wear their SFI 3.2A/1 fire pants (yes even though it was hot) and display their fluorescent towing flag anytime the Jr Dragster is towed. 71079

Question: I’m installing a fuel cell in the trunk of my Pro ET car. If I use an aluminum fuel cell will I still need to run a ground wire to it?
