The first contingency award event of the 2013 NHRA National Performers Award series was completed during the JEGS NHRA Cajun SPORTnationals. As a reminder to all racers, the contingency postings for the Mello Yello Drag Racing Series events are posted on the Mello Yello Series Event Contingency Postings link on nhraracer.com. Once this link is clicked on, a racer can view a full listing of Mello Yello Drag Racing Series events and when an event is clicked on, a page will open up that lists the contingency postings for the chosen event. 53982

NHRA officials announced today a new contingency program that rewards NHRA Sportsman racers in a variety of categories, including six NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series classes, who are eliminated in the semifinal rounds at national events.

The NHRA Contingency Program is one of the best ways that a sponsor can thank a racer for using their parts and supporting their company. The product and decal verification process is an extremely important part of the program. Contingency is a contract between the sponsors and the racers. The wildly successful class eliminations for Stock and Super Stock will continue for the third season and will expand to 11 NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series events. The class elimination events also will take place in conjunction with the three JEGS SPORTSnationals races. This program has seen expanded participation from the racers and many are targeting their projected events.
