The following action has been taken against Steve Matusek regarding the non-removal of the fire bottle safety pin prior to his run during eliminations at Lucas Oil Raceway that occurred on September 6, 2020 during the DENSO Spark Plugs NHRA U.S. Nationals. Matusek has been fined Two Thousand Five Hundred dollars ($2,500). The fine will be dedicated to enhancing the capabilities of the Safety Safari. This action is appealable. 72017

McCue was disqualified from the event and will receive 0 points from the event, which will be charged as 1 of the driver's eligible national scored events for the current season. NHRA has announced that the Automatic Horsepower Factoring system will be used during the 2021 NHRA U.S. Nationals event. All runs made by Stock and Super Stock competitors at any time during the event will count towards class averages, and will be used to trigger index or horsepower adjustments 72006
