NHRA Releases 2026 Rulebook Amendment Updates

The NHRA Technical Department has released additional 2026 Rule Amendments. Unless otherwise noted in this document, these additional amendments will come into effect immediately. The 2026 NHRA Rulebook Amendments can be found on NHRARacer.com under Tech, then Rules.

• Section 11A, Stock Cars, Engine – Billet crankshafts permitted

• Section 12A, Super Stock, Engine – Billet crankshafts permitted

• Section 12A, Super Stock, Distributor – Clarify maximum number of coils limited to number of spark plugs

• Section 12B, Super Stock/GT, Steering – Rack and pinion steering permitted

• Section 12B through 12G – Beginning January 1, 2027, oil containment device required when equipped with rack and pinion steering

• Section 13L, Comp, Modified Production – Floor and Spoilers clarifications
