NHRA Releases 2026 Rulebook Amendment Updates

The NHRA Technical Department has released additional 2026 Rule Amendments. Unless otherwise noted in this document, these additional amendments will come into effect immediately. The 2026 NHRA Rulebook Amendments can be found on NHRARacer.com under Tech, then Rules.

• Section 13, Comp, Page 5, Air Foils, Wings – Air Foils and Wings paragraph added

• Section 13B, Comp, Econo Dragster, Page 13, Engine – B/ED cubic inch limit increased from 366 to 375

• Section 13L, Comp, Modified Production, Page58, Engine – Removed “raising engine prohibited”

• Section 13L, Comp, Modified Production, Page 59, Fuel System – Language updated

• Section 13L, Comp, Modified Production, Page 60, Roll Cage – Roll cage specifications updated

• Section 13L, Comp, Modified Production, Page 61, Windshield, Windows – Language clarified/updated

• Section 17, Pro Stock, Page 7, Tires - Language clarified/updated

• Section 18, Funny Car, Page 12, Electrical Components – Electrimotion 5.03 mandatory. Starting January 1, 2027, other Electrimotion requirements mandatory
