In the continuing effort to maintain parity in the NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series presented by ProCare Rx, the NHRA Technical Department is increasing the minimum weight for turbocharged entries from 2,650 pounds to 2,700 pounds. The minimum weight for nitrous assisted entries will remain at 2,425 pounds while the minimum weight for supercharged entries will remain at 2,650 pounds. Turbocharged entries will also have a reduction in maximum allowable engine size from 540 cubic inches to 526 cubic inches. Additionally, in an effort to maintain parity and reduce development costs of turbocharged entries, a spec 88 mm turbocharger will be mandated. This turbocharger will be manufactured only by Precision Turbo & Engine. The turbine housing part number will be 10301-XXX and the compressor wheel will be A24288C. Only this approved turbocharger and it components will be permitted. Any modification to the spec turbocharger is prohibited. These rule changes will go into effect January 1, 2012. Additional parity adjustments will be made as necessary.
