Statement of Action Against Participants
At the 2026 NHRA US Nationals, Pro Mod competitor Jason Collins was found to have a modified supercharger. Collins’ Q1, Q2, and Q3 runs were disqualified. In addition, Collins was fined $2,500 and assessed a 100-point championship deduction.
Factory Stock Showdown competitor Taylor Dietsch was found to have an incorrect supercharger pulley. Dietsch’s Q3 run was disqualified, and he was fined $2,500.
Top Fuel competitor Jacob Opatrny received a Q2 run disqualification for failing to meet post-run weight verification requirements. Lex Joon’s Q5 run was disqualified after required bellhousing/inspection-cover hardware was found to be missing.
Funny Car competitors John Smith and Hunter Green were each found to be under the minimum required weight. Smith’s Q1 run and Green’s Q1 run were disqualified.
Stock Eliminator competitors David Bares and John Korish were disqualified from the event following technical violations discovered during inspection. Bares was found with an incorrect carburetor for the engine year, while Korish’s intake runner volume exceeded the maximum permitted volume. Both competitors received zero points and the event was charged against their event quota.
Super Stock competitors Stacy McCarty, Richard Bierie, Frank Schmitt, and PJ Fouts were disqualified from the event following technical violations. McCarty was found with an incorrect carburetor for the engine year, Bierie with a modified supercharger, Schmitt with modified carburetor throttle-blade screws, and Fouts with a wheelbase outside the permitted specification. Each competitor received zero points and the event was charged against their event quota.
Top Dragster competitor Roger Chaney ran quicker than the category’s 6.00-second minimum ET at the U.S. Nationals and was disqualified from the event. Chaney received zero points and the event was charged against his event quota.
At the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series event at Beech Bend Raceway Park, Top Dragster competitor Karma Hopper ran quicker than the category’s 6.00-second minimum ET and was disqualified from the event. Hopper received zero points and the event was charged against her event quota.
