Question:

I have a ’66 Chevy II that I compete with in NHRA’s Super Street class.  Am I allowed to use two-way radios to communicate with my crew?

Radio Ray,

Under General Regulations, 9:13 in the 2012 NHRA Rulebook, it states that “the use of two-way radios for the purpose of voice communication between driver and crew is permitted in all classes.  Telemetry may in no way be used for gathering data or performing control functions.  When radio is mounted in driver’s compartment, must be secured in holder by some type of strap or device when car is moving.”
