I see from the recently posted 2012 NHRA Rule Amendments that Top Fuel and Funny Car are required to use an SFI 15.4 rear wheel next year. I have heard from a number of my racing friends that I may have to change to an SFI 15.3 rear wheel in 2012 for my Top Alcohol Funny Car. Is that true?

Top Alcohol Tommy,

The NHRA Technical Department has received several inquiries about such a rule change and I can tell you that it is FALSE. Top Alcohol Dragsters and Funny Cars are still required to use a rear wheel meeting SFI 15.1.
