Question:

I have a 1957 Chevy that I’m building for the NHRA Super Street class.  I’m going to install fiberglass lift off doors.  Are there any special rules that I will need to follow.

In section 7, Super Street, page 4, Body: 7 of the 2012 NHRA Rulebook it states “Door hinges on any lift-off door must have safety pins or locks.”  Also on page 5, Windscreen, Windows it states “Cars with top and windshield must be equipped with all windows.  All windshields and windows must be clear or factory-tinted safety glass or clear Plexiglas or other shatterproof material, 1/8-inch minimum thickness.”
